Summertime is the perfect opportunity to spend some quality time with your family \u2013 whether it\u2019s a day trip to the park or a longer vacation \u2013 but if you\u2019re a business owner, unplugging from the everyday demands of your company can be a challenge. In fact, can your business survive without you?<\/p>\n<p>If that\u2019s a question you find yourself asking, it\u2019s probably time to sit down and figure out how the business should operate in the event that you\u2019re not there. Even a very small business needs to be able to operate without the owner in the shop each and every day. And feeling like you can\u2019t take a week off can do a number on the quality of your business management and can have a real emotional impact. Let\u2019s face it \u2013 everyone needs a break, but you don\u2019t want to have to close up shop!<\/p>\n<p>So, if you won a trip to the Caribbean tomorrow, who would run your business while you were gone? Have you been training someone to take your place? Who would do the ordering, the schedule, the finances? Or would there just be a closed sign in the window? Let\u2019s say it\u2019s more dramatic than a vacation. What if something happened to you? Would your business survive?
